The November and December 2008 calendars have been posted.  Please note that the Christmas Concert date has been changed from December 3rd to December 10th.  Same time, same location.

Attend the October Booster Meeting

Make sure your family is represented at the Booster meeting on Monday, October 19th at 7 pm at the Hiram High Fine Arts Center.

Read the Details for the Golden River Invitational

On Saturday, October 19, 2008, the Band of Gold will travel to Haralson County to participate in the Golden River Invitational Band Championship.

The band members must report to the big field at Hiram by 4 pm in practice clothes with all equipment ready for a show run.  We will rehearse until 5 pm with inspection and bus boarding for a departure at 6 pm.

Please eat before arriving at Hiram High.  Students will not be permitted to leave campus to eat after the rehearsal.

Bring all equipment and full uniform to school, and bring clothes for a change after the performance.  Be prepared to eat at the Haralson concession stands.

The class begins at 8:10 pm.  The Band of Gold performs at 8:50 pm, with Awards at 10:15 pm.  Jacksonville State University performs after the awards ceremony.

DIRECTIONS to Haralson County Competition:  Follow Hiram Sudie Road.  Cross Hwy 61 onto Scoggins Road.  At Hwy 120, turn left (south).  Cross Hwy 27 and Haralson High will be on your left.

October 31 and November 7 Concessions Work Schedule Posted

The Concessions work schedules for the next two home games, October 31 and November 7, have been posted.  Please disregard previous schedules.  Because Senior Night has been moved from October 31st to November 7th, assignments had to be changed.  You can access the new schedules HERE. Condolences

The Band of Gold Family expresses its sympathy to the family and friends of Dale Hamilton, who recently passed away. There will be visitation for the family of Dale Hamilton this coming Thursday, Oct. 16 at Benson Funeral Home in Dallas, from 7 – 9 pm.

Georgia Invitational Band Championship News!

The Georgia Invitational Band Championship, hosted by the Hiram High School Band of Gold, is approaching.  Nineteen terrific bands will perform over the day-long competition.  Check out the visiting bands and the judging information.

Band volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks throughout the day.  Please step up and volunteer!  We need you to make this a memorable day for all the participating band students.  Contact Tracey Gossett, GIBC Coordinator, to volunteer.

ALERT! Senior Night Has Been Moved!

The Hiram High School administration has moved Senior Night from October 31, 2008 to November 7, 2008.  Questions or concerns about Senior Night should be directed to the high school administration.

Band of Gold to Expand Trophy Case

At the Central of Carroll County Super Bowl of Sound, the Hiram High School Band of Gold Won the AAA Division top honors with all Superior Ratings.  Twenty-two bands participated in the Superbowl.  Here are the results from the October 4, 2008 contest:

• Best in Class Band
• Best in Class Percussion
• 2nd in Class Drum Major
• 2nd in Class Colorguard

8th Grade Night with the Band of Gold

Future Band of Gold members will join the Band of Gold in the stands on Friday, October 3rd for the Hiram v. Paulding game.  Please welcome the students and their families.
